Tips for A Safe Night Out in Bali
Although we feel that Bali is just as safe or if not safer than places in Australia and around the world, we have put together some tips to make sure your night out runs as smoothly as possible.
- We recommend taking a GRAB taxi or bike to and from your destination and avoid driving yourself if you plan on drinking.
- Pickpockets operate in some of the busy clubs and bars so tuck your phone into a safe place- keep in mind these pick pockets can even snatch a phone from your front pocket!
- Drink spiking isn’t super common but it has been reported in Bali so always keep an eye on your drink and make sure you have a buddy looking out for you.
- We don’t advise walking along the beach to get home.
- Take a business card from your accommodation and keep it in your pocket because the streets in Bali can be confusing, especially at night (especially after drinks!).
- You CAN have ice in your drinks as ice is now regulated under Indonesian law and establishments are required to use filtered water.
- Some establishments may use local spirits. Generally if the price is too good to be true, it’s arak. Arak can give you a nasty hangover and sometimes cause alcohol poisoning so beware of the #arakattack
