During these last two years when international travel has been difficult, we’ve instead turned our travels to exploring more of Indonesia. Indonesia’s motto is ‘Unity in Diversity’ and the more we explore this gorgeous country we call home, the more we realise just how fitting this motto is. There is so much diversity between the different regions of Indonesia. From religion, to clothing, to food, to languages and daily activities. I don’t think we’ve ever explored a country as culturally diverse as Indonesia.
It’s this cultural diversity that gave the team at The Apurva Kempinski Bali the motivation for their latest campaign- aptly named after the country’s motto ~ “Unity in Diversity”.
During the next 12 months, when you visit the stunning The Apurva Kempinski Bali in Nusa Dua you will find a different region of Indonesia being showcased every two months. This campaign kicked off with a bang in January 2022 with a launch party featuring dancers & entertainers from all over Indonesia. The event was filled with colour and culture and was a great way to begin the Unity in Diversity Program.
We recently stayed at The Apurva Kempinski Bail and got to experience Sumatra: The Island of Gold being celebrated. From being greeted by the lobby ambassadors dressed in Baju kurang, traditional Sumatran attire, to tasting Sumatran flavours in each of the dining venues throughout the resort, to being treated to Sumatran spa treatments using traditional oils and techniques, you could see, feel, smell and taste Sumatra right throughout the resort. We especially loved taking part in the Sumatran craft activities of stitching and beading. Even in the Family Club the children enjoyed playing and learning about Sumatran games and nature and dancing to Sumatran music.
Now in April and throughout May, Nusa Tenggara: The Mystical Island is on show to experience throughout the resort. The other areas of Indonesia that will be featured in the Unity in Diversity program are Java: Island of Abundance, Kalimantan: World of Many Facets, Sulawesi: Tribes and its Diversity, and Papua & Maluku: Islands of Spices.
This is a great opportunity to not only experience one of Bali’s most breathtaking resorts, but also experience another area of Indonesia. The team has done such a wonderful job of really embracing each region right throughout the resort. From décor, to uniforms, to experiences, foods, drinks and activities, whichever region is being showcased during your visit you will get to fully immerse yourself in Indonesia’s rich culture and extraordinary diversity.
Who knows, it may even inspire you to go and explore the rest of Indonesia more after your Bali stay.
