Are you travelling with family or even with friends? This one might be ideal to put into your itinerary. We have visited Bali’s only indoor theme park, and prepared the review for you to read. Get to know how is it like inside!

Since late December the weather in Bali has been a bit soggy, and it can be hard to find things to do when it’s raining in Bali. You can imagine our excitement when we heard that Trans Studio – Bali’s only indoor theme park – had reopened for the first time since the border closures. This theme park is located on top of Trans Studio Mall in Denpasar. You better believe we visited as soon as we could, and we are here to tell you all about it!
First, you are going to want to spare quite a few hours for your visit. There is so much to see and do, it takes time to get through everything. Your entry ticket gets you in and allows you to ride on all the rides (except the iFly experience) as many times as you wish. It also gives you access to see all the shows happening throughout the day. Be sure to check the show timetable when you enter so you don’t miss any of your favourite shows. Our favourite shows were the action-packed Temple Raider show and the colourful Dream Festival Parade.

The rides are what we are all about. We are thrill seekers, so of course we headed directly to the Boomerang. This is the rooftop rollercoaster you can see from the street! A real adrenaline rush, which also gives you epic Bali views. This is for sure in our top two rides at the park! Our other favourite ride is Flying Over Indonesia, there is strictly no photography allowed on this ride so we can’t show you a lot of it, but we can tell you that is unmissable. You take a virtual paraglide ride over some of Indonesia’s most iconic and beautiful destinations. You feel it, hear it, and even smell it…you really feel like you are there. The technology of this ride is quite amazing, and let us warn you, it will have you planning more travel throughout Indonesia once you get a glimpse of some of the locations this ride takes you to.

Other rides and adventures in the park include the Forbidden Temple Rapid Adventure, this ride sees you riding the rapids both in and outside the mall (you even get a great rice field view when you’re outside). There is also Werewolf World, where you walk through with your team eliminating the attacking werewolves, and City of the Dead Survival, where you need to help the Army officer to stop the attack of the Zombies (these two adventures are not for those scared of the dark or scared of monsters though!). For calmer adventures try the Puppet Master Ferris Wheel or get behind the wheel on the Formula Karts. There are several different adventures and rides that see you zipping and zooming all over the park, we’ve only told you a fraction of them! There is plenty to keep both the kids and the adults entertained right throughout the park and right throughout an entire day if you wish. There are even many Instagrammable moments to have fun with too, including a mini replica of the Titanic where you can have your own “King of the World” moment.

The only adventure that costs extra once you enter the park is the iFly. This is your chance to experience indoor skydiving, and we have to say that even though there is an extra fee to do this, we’ve never seen iFly cheaper anywhere else in the world than at Trans Studio. Of course, we had to give it a go, and it was so much fun! The instructors make it easy and safe for both young and old to get to experience what it feels like to skydive…without having to go up on a plane!

There is a small food court and a few restaurants to keep you fed and hydrated during your visit. Bringing your own food and drinks is not allowed, and your tickets are one-time entry only, so come with some extra funds should you get hungry or thirsty during your visit (which you will, because we ended up doing over 15,000 steps during your visit running around to all the different adventures over and over again!). If you can afford it, we recommend upgrading your ticket to VIP (you can only do this at the counter once you arrive) this gets you a special VIP bracelet and priority access to every ride and adventure. It is especially worth it on weekends and holidays when the park is extra busy, or if you only have a limited time to explore the park. We were there on a Sunday and some rides had a 45-minute lineup, so having the VIP band saw us only lining up for a maximum of 15 minutes and usually less than that!

Our overall verdict? Sure, it’s not your typical Bali cultural or nature experience you may be used to doing during a Bali holiday, but it is a whole heap of fun and a very well-designed theme park that is easy to get to in South Bali. It is also an excellent activity to do when trying to escape the rain or sun in Bali. We for sure will be back!
