Wrapped in rich local culture, SugarSand gracefully weaves together the touch of Japanese simplicity and Balinese craftsmanship, displaying intricate details inspired by the “jukung” – or a traditional Balinese boat – over the dining space.

Before leading SugarSand’s team, Chef Syamsul Rizal worked in the kitchen of international cruise liners, global hotel chains, and some of the top US, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and Morocco restaurants. One of his international career highlights includes working at Miami’s award-winning restaurant Nobu and Zuma in Dubai.
