Spotlight on Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa
Staying at the Kayumanis in Sanur
We have always had a soft spot for Sanur – the lovely laid back village vibe, the fabulous protected beach, which the children can enjoy without being toppled by waves and the fabulous long pathway along the beach to take long walks or bike rides. We always make at least one day trip to Sanur with each visit. Earlier this year we were invited to stay in Sanur at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa.

Our Villa at Kayumanis Sanur
Having visited the Kayumanis property in Jimbaran we were aware of the high standards and level of luxury that the Kayumanis brand provides. The Sanur property is located Jalan Tirta Akasa, which is about a 5 minute drive from the beach. A lovely touch to being a guest here is at anytime when you wish to head to the beach of main street of Sanur there is a private car waiting to take you complete with cold water and cookies!
Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa is a stunning oasis of beautiful Gardens and traditional style large Bali villas. The villas all open on to a communal, large lawn area, which has the lobby and Gong restaurant in the middle. We stayed in the two-bedroom villa, which can really be considered a three-bedroom villa, as there were two large bedrooms downstairs and a smaller office upstairs. Our pool was large with a beautiful bale and daybed overlooking it. There was an open air lounge area, along with a dining and kitchen area too. The absolute standout of the villa though was the amazing indoor/outdoor bathrooms. Nothing quite says Bali like showering amongst beautiful gardens with the stars up above you.
The team of Kayumanis Sanur
When speaking with the staff members at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa they describe their team as being like one big family. We must say this is very apparent when dealing with the staff, they are all happy, helpful and there to make sure your stay is as wonderful as possible.
Dining at Kayumanis Sanur
We loved Gong restaurant at the property. The restaurant specialises in traditional Balinese cuisine, even if you are not staying at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa. you should really add Gong to your dining list and experience Balinese cuisine at it’s best! We had our breakfasts served direct to our villa during our stay and we loved to enjoy ours in the dining area, while the kids loved to have their breakfast in the bale by the pool.
Things To Do in and Around Sanur
The concierge service at the property is truly one of the things that make staying there such a dream. They can arrange anything for you and have a lot of unique activities they have created especially for their guests. One of the favourite activities of our trip was our in-villa cooking lessons. The chef came into our villa complete with all of the equipment and ingredients. It was the kids turn first and they made fresh strawberry smoothies and a Bali favourite – club sandwiches. While they were enjoying the fruits of their labour the adults got started on preparing a 3 course Balinese feast! It was really interesting to learn about the preparation that goes into making traditional Balinese food and we loved all of the fresh ingredients with absolutely everything being made from scratch (Paleo lovers eat your heart out!).
You can’t see the sunset in Sanur but it is famous for it’s sunrises! One of the most popular activities provided by Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa for their guests is a special sunrise breakfast down at their beach club. Unfortunately for us the morning we had booked it was raining and we didn’t get to do it. We figure this just means we need to go back and stay again so we get to experience this famous Sanur sunrise breakfast. Thankfully for us it cleared up later that morning and we took the private car down to Kayumanis private beach club. It was a nice touch that they had a big bag of sand toys to give us for the children to enjoy as well.
Spa and Kids Club at Kayumanis Sanur
No complex in Bali is complete without an amazing day spa and Kayumanis spa Sanur certainly did not disappoint. Set up in one of the large villas the spa has the same homely feel as the entire complex. The sound of the water feature and looking out on to the pool makes for a relaxing scene. The holistic practices of the spa focus specially on the use of naturally sourced ingredients and traditional treatments. The children enjoyed manicures and pedicures while the adults took to one of the double treatment rooms for an amazing Balinese massage.
We had a delightful stay at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa., we loved the village area surrounded the complex and the serenity of our villa. It was definitely a luxury experience with our every need and desire taken care of the very memorable staff. The Gangsa will definitely be a place we return to and we will be putting the other Kayumanis properties on our list of places to try!
