Spice Islands Distilling Co.: Raising Local Craft Spirits With A Sustainability Mission

As a Gianyar-based boutique distillery, Spice Islands Distilling Co. has a mission to raise Indonesian spirits on the world stage – serving customers not only the best flavors but also an authentic story of Indonesian spices exploration in the present time.

Spice Islands Distilling Co Gin

Spice Islands Distilling Co. produces spirits with high-quality Indonesian ingredients, distinguishing their brand from common stereotypes when it comes to local spirits. Combining the island’s best ingredients, an excellent hand-made copper still, and passionate talents, the distillery is committed to raising Indonesian spirits. They’re not stopping anytime soon with their creations – the sky’s the limit.

Its first release was the luxurious coffee-based liquor, Nusantara Cold Brew. The philosophy behind it is ‘a truly Indonesian spirit’, using carefully selected Arabica beans. For those who prefer less acidic and sweeter base notes, Nusantara Cold Brew is simply a must-try for its unique fruity and chocolate flavor.

Another craft spirit released from the distillery is East Indies Archipelago Dry Gin. As the pioneer of Indonesian-made dry gin, it gives off an incredible twist of Indonesian botanicals and a classic gin flavor. With kecombrang – also known as ginger torch flower – at the core, East Indies Gin has a distinctive citrus aroma and flavor gin lovers should get a taste of.

If coffee and gin are different from what you look for in spirits, then you should look forward to 2023! The distillery will take on the journey of Indonesia’s first authentic distilled rum production – and you’ll get to taste it very soon.

As much as the love for blending art and science, the distillery promotes sustainability initiatives you can take part in. Their ongoing bottle collection program aims to minimize glass waste and carbon footprint. If you’re up to raising local spirits with less, you surely can’t miss Spice Islands Distilling Co.’s craft spirits!
