Rip Curl School of Surf Opens at Mamaka by Ovolo

For two decades, the original surf school in Bali has provided comprehensive water sports services and is now wave-riding to Kuta’s urban hotel.

Established in 1998, Rip Curl School of Surf has been a vital part of Bali’s tourism, catering to both beginners and seasoned surfers. It gained prominence even before Bali became popular with surf tourism. And it has consistently grown, earning the title of a premier surf school in back-to-back Surf Time Awards.

As a part of the island, Rip Curl School of Surf celebrates the strong bond between Rip Curl as a brand and Indonesia. The brand is committed to connecting with the local community and giving back to the Island through various CSR initiatives, mangrove restoration, or ongoing coral garden programs.

With main bases in Legian and Sanur, Rip Curl School of Surf ensures guests are taken to the best surf conditions. The collaboration of Mamaka with Rip Curl School of Surf at Kuta’s Halfway beach further enriches the offerings.

A full-time classroom managed by the Rip Curl School of Surf has been available at Mamaka since 16 October 2023, drawing inspiration from a nostalgic era, encouraging participants to attend surf presentations like “Surf 101” for insights into surf history, science, equipment, and the physical and mental preparation needed to embrace the surf culture.

Utilizing Mamaka’s excellent fitness center, Rip Curl School of Surf is introducing ‘Get Fit to Rip’ classes, letting guests develop their strength and surfing skills to conquer waves.
