Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort awaits guests to explore the art of hand-weaving with Pertenunan Cap Cili on 18 and 19 August 2023. Pertenunan Cap Cili, based in Gianyar, is one of the oldest hand-weaving factories in Bali. But this time, you can experience it in the mini-studio set up in the resort’s lobby!
Founded in 1948 by a Balinese Couple, Ni Made Suwening and Pande Wayan Sira, the hand-weaving factory has been making a positive impact on the local community. This oldest tenun factory in Gianyar employed over 200 talented artisans from three to five villages!
Back in 1989, The Ministry of Women’s Affairs awarded Pertenunan Cap Cili for its notable contributions to business and the community – recognizing the true dedication and passion for empowering women’s labour productivity.
Furthermore, the values align with Marriott International’s commitment to enhancing women’s empowerment and making a positive impact on environmental sustainability. This led to an exciting artistry collaboration at the resort.
Moreover, Pertenunan Cap Cili practices environmental preservation through various means, including waste management. They ensure that the water and dye mixture waste is responsibly handled and filtered before being absorbed by the soil.
