Santai Surf School
Santai Surf School Seminyak
Surf’s Up With Seminyak’s Award Winning Surf School
The thing we love most about Santai Surf School Seminyak is the emphasis on family and safety. In fact the business itself has been family run by Balinese local Gede & his English wife Henney since 2012, meaning it’s founded on the basis of unity. As students share team Santai’s passion and master surfing skills, they have the opportunity to join an eternally growing family, and one they’ll always be a part of.
Enjoying Life, One Wave at a Time
Santai is the only surf school in Bali to be internationally accredited by ASI (Academy of Surfing Instructors). With all the options on the island, it goes to show how dedicated they are to delivering professional quality to the highest standard with an impressive fully qualified team of local instructors that complete yearly ASI certifications including surf instruction, surf rescue, lifesaving and first aid. Gede, a former instructor of Rip Curl & Kima Surf has over 10 years of teaching experience & believes that as much as fun, safety plays an important role in surfing.
Rewarded for their dedication & excellence, they were recognised on the world’s largest travel site for 5 consecutive years of “Certificate of Excellence” and has now earned them a prestigious place in the TripAdvisor “Hall of Fame”. That’s not the only award Santai Surf is familiar with, in 2016 & 2017 they were deemed Luxury Travel Guide Winners and have just been nominated for 2020.
Santai aims to retain Bali spirit and harmony, which is precisely why they try to do more for the community and the ocean they love so much. Each day they make increasing efforts to go totally plastic free, all for a better and cleaner Bali and they continue to collect items for donation to villages around Bali.
When you are ready to surf, Santai delivers personalised lessons and guiding to beginner and intermediate surfers from age 4.
You’ll often see Gede, Henney and their kids Niluh Jessica and Kadek Emmy at Double Six beach working hard for their little business in paradise. You might even see 4 year old Jess catch a few waves.
