W Bali – Seminyak and Plastik Kembali, a Lombok-based circular art and homeware design company, have collaborated to present “Reimagining Plastic Waste: LAND | SEA | SKY”, an exhibition featuring recycled plastic waste with applied artistic innovation and creativity.

Taking place from 17 March 2023 and running until 30 April 2023, the Land | Sea | Sky exhibition by Plastik Kembali will show the impact of single-use plastic on our nature while reimagining the value of plastic waste through fibre art, rattan weaving, moulded sculpture and more – using recycled and natural materials.

Land | Sea | Sky addresses one of Indonesia’s most significant challenges – plastic waste – through a beautiful arts and crafts transformation. This illustrates how people can rethink waste recycling side-by-side across land, sea, and sky.

Plastik Kembali’s artworks include hand-twisted recycled rope, recycled plastic forms enhanced with local rattan weaving, and textile weavings that are hand-woven by women on traditional Lombok looms.
On the 15 – 16 April 2023, there will be a big market where guests can purchase sustainable handmade crafts like recycled art, tableware, and many more interesting items.

While plastic waste remains a challenge across the archipelago, Plastik Kembali displays a creative approach to the love of nature, creating a community that nurtures connection and peace – living in harmony and hopes for a sustainable future.
The initiative is also in line with W Bali – Seminyak’s long-term focus on sustainability by single-use plastic.
If you are in Bali please come and witness how creativity shows the potential to reduce plastic waste, also take part in supporting the local community throughout the event.
