Irresistible Nyepi Deals

Unlock the Magic of Nyepi Day With These Irresistible Nyepi Offers
Who can believe it is almost time to celebrate Nyepi Day once again! It was around Nyepi Day last year that we really started to feel the effects of the pandemic and border closures in Bali. Here we are in 2021 with borders still closed, but quite a lot more businesses opened. We love Bali’s Day of Silence and celebrating Bali’s New Year.
Sometimes we like to take advantage of the amazing Nyepi resort packages that are on offer or to hire a villa with friends, and other years we like to stay home and prepare ourselves with some yummy food!
Below we have a list of the best Nyepi offers for Nyepi Day Bali 2021…
In this article:
What Happens on Nyepi Day?
For those that haven’t enjoyed a Nyepi Day in Bali just yet, you are in for something that is not like what you’ve seen anywhere else in the world. You can learn more about the Balinese New Year and what it is all about here.
This year, Nyepi Day falls on Sunday, March 14, this means from 6 am on March 14 to 6 am on March 16, you must not go outside from the venue you are staying. At night time you must not have any lights showing outside. Some internet providers will shut for the day, there are no cars or bikes, or planes allowed (except for emergency services). Generally, the idea is to be quiet, so no loud music is to be played either.
At night time you must go outside and look at the sky… if it’s a clear night, it will be one of the most spectacular visions you have seen. With no light pollution, the stars are so clear and last year we had the perfect vision of the Milky Way and lots of other constellations.
Normally the night before Nyepi everyone would be taking to the streets to enjoy the Ogah-Ogah parades all over Bali. Sadly for the second year in a row, the Ogah-Ogah Parades have been canceled due to the pandemic (we will share some of our favorite Ogah-Ogah moments from years gone by on our social channels).
When being in Bali for Nyepi Day, it pays to be prepared! Here’s a separate article that dives into how to spend Nyepi Day in Bali.
What to Eat on Nyepi Day?
If you are staying at home, or renting a private villa, or even staying in one of Bali’s famous tree houses… you need to be prepared for your meals on Nyepi Day, there’s no food delivery and no popping out to the shops to get ingredients. Most villas you rent will have no staff on these days either.
Our top tip is to check out Vivre Gourmet – their ready meals are made for enjoying on Nyepi Day. You can get your favorite meals delivered before Nyepi, from their large range of Mexican / Italian / Chinese / Thai / Indonesian and Indian feasts to charcuterie and grazing platters. And they even have whole stuffed chickens & marinated and tied lamb shoulders from their butchery section, all ready for you to create your own roast.
Especially for Nyepi they are going to be customizing their family meals to be chilled and packaged with reheating instructions so that you can enjoy them at their finest on the day.
Their famous wine deal will be back, if you purchase 6 bottles of import wines, you can get them for as low as 220k per bottle! Vivre Gourmet is also a fully stocked grocery store, so while you are ordering your meals you can also add things like fresh milk, potato chips, guacamole, and East Bali Cashews Popcorn for Nyepi movie watching!
Delivery for Nyepi orders will be available on Nyepi Eve (March 13) from 9 am until 1 pm. Your orders must be placed on their website by March 11, 2 pm to guarantee your order. Get organized early and enjoy your Nyepi Day feasts!
