On 7 July 2023, the show had Edd Daggers took centre stage with his tightly written jokes and playful crowd interaction. Coming from the UK, Edd Daggers has been the mastermind behind Osaka’s renowned ROR Comedy Club since 2011. From headlining shows across Asia to gracing iconic comedy venues like London Comedy Store and Sydney Comedy Store, Edd splits his time between London and his beloved adopted hometown of Osaka, Japan.
Perched high above the palms, Kuta Social Club presents another night with Mad About Comedy with Ahmed Ahmed on Friday, 15 July 2023, from 8 pm onwards. You just can’t miss his international comedy sensation!
Ahmed Ahmed is an Egyptian-American actor and comedian. You may know him from his notable roles in films like “Executive Decision,” “Swingers,” and the famous “Iron Man,” or TV shows such as “Tracey Takes On…,” “Roseanne,” “JAG,” “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn” on Comedy Central, and even MTV’s hilarious “Punk’d” with Ashton Kutcher. Sitcom enthusiasts will immediately recognize his comedic chops from Sullivan & Son.
Ahmed also has appeared on esteemed platforms like CNN, The View, and National Public Radio. He gained attention from major publications, including a feature in The Wall Street Journal in December 2001 and coverage in Newsweek. He’s a regular at The Comedy Store in Hollywood too.
Moreover, he was featured in the PBS television documentary series “American at a Crossroads” in the episode titled “STAND UP: Muslim American Comics Come of Age.” This episode focused on the rise of Muslim American comedians, showcasing Ahmed’s significant role in the comedy landscape. Ahmed’s incredible talent earned him the first annual Richard Pryor Award at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland during the summer of 2004.
