In the Spotlight: Sundays Beach Club

A haven for surfers, it’s also where you’ll find some jaw-droppingly idyllic clifftop eateries and beach clubs. Sundays Beach Club, hidden beneath the cliffs on Melasti Beach, is one of the best.

Sundays Beach Club: What to Expect

Overlooking a pristine stretch of sand in Ungasan, Sunday’s Beach Club is Bali’s ultimate fun-in-the-sun destination. Reached via inclinator down steep limestone cliffs, the easy-breezy bamboo structure has everything you’d need for a day by the water. There’s an ocean-facing bar and eatery, sunbeds and seating options galore, and the full roster of water sports equipment.

Seating Options at Sundays Beach Club

We recommend planning ahead and making a full day of it to get the most out of your Sundays experience. Admission includes the inclinator ride, free WiFi all day, a towel, and — at low tide — access to all of their water sports (check their website for tide times).

Regular day passes are priced at IDR 450,000 with IDR 250,000 redeemable on food and drinks. You needn’t book this one in advance but we recommend getting there early for the best seats as the bean bags on the beach operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are also adults-only VIP sunbeds. With an elevated view of the beach and a private bar, these are priced at IDR 750,000 (with IDR 550,000 redeemable on F&B plus a free coconut on arrival). Book your VIP sunbed here.

Finally, our favourite way to enjoy Sundays is by booking one of the four VIP bungalows. With room for up to 6 guests, you get the luxury of your own bathroom and shower plus free infused water all day. For all your other drinks and snacks, there’s a private butler!

You can book these for IDR 5,000,000 (all of which is redeemable on F&B!) plus your IDR 200,000 entry fee. Perks include a complimentary fruit platter and coconut on arrival, and marshmallows for the bonfire! But be warned, these book up well in advance so be sure to reserve early. Book your VIP bungalow here.

Dine & Drink at Sundays Beach Club

The menu at Sundays has been specially curated to suit the oceanfront setting. You’ll find creative share plates like the baja fish tacos with pineapple salsa alongside favourites like wood-fired pizzas, and burgers.

There are light and zesty salads and Balinese specialities, too. Drinks-wise, the menu is as comprehensive as any in on the island, with a huge selection of international wines and spirits. Or, if cocktails are your thing, they have classics, tiki-style concoctions, and sharing pitchers. Enjoy at the restaurant or bar, or they’ll deliver to wherever you’re sitting.

Facilities at Sundays Beach Club

The crystal-clear lagoon and scattered rock pools that flank the shore in front of Sundays is its biggest draw. Take a dip and enjoy the water, or borrow one of Sundays’ snorkels to see shoals of tropical fish darting around the reef. Other complimentary water sports include kayaking and stand up paddle board safaris.

Come sundown, the beach bonfires are lit, the beats drop, and the mood shifts. Plus, there’s live music and DJs every weekend from 4.30pm.
