Kuta Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Bali, and a great one to run on. During low tide, you can run on the beach from Kuta to Seminyak (from Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort to W Bali is exactly 5 kilometers). You’ll find a lot of like-minded people exercising on the beach too.

Alternatively, you can enter the beach next to the Grand Inna Kuta hotel and run south, towards the airport. The paved path leads you along hotels and restaurants and at the end you can decide whether you’ll plain and simple turn around and enjoy the same scenery again, or that you turn left onto streets and make a loop via Jalan Raya Kuta and JalanLegian. Opting for the latter means you’ll run along the airport’s premises, back to Kuta’s city center.

If you’re up for a long run, this one is for you. Start from Beachwalk Shopping Mall and run south towards the Airport. Then leave the path and turn left after 3,1KM. Follow this road along the airport and turn left onto Jalan Raya Tuban when you reach the horse statue. When you’re just over halfway of your run, you turn left onto JalanBakun Sari, turn back via JalanTegal Wangi and then left onto JalanLegian. When you reach the intersection with JalanMelasti you turn left and head back towards the beach. At the end you have two options, you turn right and run until Double Six Beach, from where you head back to Beachwalk (15KM) or, if you’re tired, you turn left immediately and complete a 12KM run. Either way: chapeau!
