East Indies’ Gin Wins Big at The Bartender Spirits Award

The first craft distillery in Bali, Spice Islands Distilling Co., continues making achievements one after another with its unique East Indies Gin. The product line won a double gold for Bali Pink Pomelo Gin, and a back-to-back gold for Archipelago Dry Gin at the renowned 2023 Bartender Spirits Awards.

The Bartender Spirits Awards is unique because brands are judged by a panel made up of the world’s top bartenders, alcohol buyers, and bar managers. The panel carefully tastes hundreds of gins and selects only a few brands to receive gold and double gold awards based on criteria mixability, balance, versatility, taste, mouthfeel, and finish.

As the only winner from Indonesia, East Indies Bali Pink Pomelo earned a solid 96 points, and Archipelago Dy Gin scored 92, surpassing renowned gins like Tanqueray 10 and Citadelle.

“The double gold is really a special accolade, this year only 4 gins won a double gold so it really shows that the quality of our spirits can not only compete on the world stage, but win” says Spice Islands Distilling Co. General Manager, Richard Irving.

The double gold and consecutive gold medals speak volumes about the exceptional quality of East Indies Gin and the innovative craftsmanship of Spice Islands Distilling Co. in showcasing uniquely exotic Indonesian botanicals.

We are big lovers of this Gin, and it makes the perfect Balinese gift to bring home from your holiday too!

Congrats to the East Indies team for putting Indonesian spirits on the world stage.
