Komodo prides itself on the menu’s wide variety of top-quality Pan Asian food, featuring mouthwatering Indonesian and Thai delicacies, to fragrant Indian and Chinese cuisine and everything in between. From Chinese Dumplings, to Pad Thai and Beef Rendang, the diverse range of choices offers something for everyone. With their open-style kitchen, Komodo invites diners to witness the culinary magic firsthand, igniting the senses and setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

With nearly two decades in the catering industry, Chef Wayan Priana delights on guiding patrons through a mouthwatering journey, showcasing some of Asia’s finest cuisine. His passion and expertise are evident, blending traditional techniques with a contemporary flair to create dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious.

We started off by sampling some entrees, choosing the steamed Vegetarian Cauliflower Bao bun, served with a Korean gochujang sauce and chilli mayo dressing, as well as the Thai Basil Seared Scallops with green mango, basil and peanut dressing. We loved the sleek presentation of both dishes, paving the way for a meal which was a true feast for the senses.

Deciding to opt for some Indian-inspired mains, the fragrant aromatic spices caught our attention as they were brought out to us, hinting at what was to come. We weren’t disappointed! The tender slow-cooked Tandoori Butter Chicken was a palate explosion, with authentic naan bread as the perfect accompaniment to help mop-up the creamy tomato sauce. Having worked for some of Bali’s most well-known restaurants such as Mamasan and Sarong, it is clear that Chef Wayan is a master of flavour. The tender Charcoal Chicken Pieces, cooked for 24-hours and delicately marinated in yoghurt, was full of enticing Southeast Asian aromas, solidifying its status as a Komodo Restaurant best-seller.

The restaurant’s well-stocked bar dazzles with a wide selection of high-quality spirits, as well as local and imported wines to accompany your meal. We paired our mains with some of Komodo’s signature cocktails; the Lavender Fizz, made with gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice and homemade lavender syrup, and also the vodka-based Masqueride, expertly mixed with lime juice, raspberry puree, homemade elderflower syrup and topped with bubbles.

Be sure to leave enough room to sample some of the decadent desserts, such as the creamy crème brulée, the indulgent cheesecake with berry jam, and moreish carrot cake in a caramel cream sauce. It’s an irresistible finale to your Komodo dining experience!

For those who prefer a Mexican flavour fiesta, the adjoining venue of El Patron offers diners a mouthwatering Mexican feast full of authentic South American fare, such as Smashed Burger Burritos, Lamb Shoulder Tacos and Beef Enchiladas. Wash it all down with their famous Sangria jugs as you sing along to your favourite tunes at their weekly acoustic night.
