The first thing that hits you about Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach is its out-of-the-box design. Art hangs in every corner and stylishly mis-matched furniture looks like something out of an interiors magazine. Hand-carved reliefs and rattan accents hint subtly at Bali, without taking away from the contemporary feel.
Immaculate styling continues in every room category, from the generously proportioned rooms to the even grander suites and villas. Our one-bedroom pool villa was just gorgeous. It felt light and airy thanks to the vaulted ceiling and trio of French doors leading out to the pool.
We loved the convenience of all the tech — like the Apple TV, Nespresso machine, and Bluetooth speaker. But it was the palatial bathroom that made us swoon the most. Think polished marble floors, his-and-hers vanity areas, and a make-up “boudoir” — with enough space to throw a small party!
Other things we loved were the Jacuzzi spa (set within your private pool), the 24/7 butler service, and the luxury of choosing whether to breakfast in the villa, Makase restaurant, or overlooking the ocean at SugarSand, the hotel’s destination beach club.
If you don’t make it to SugarSand for breakfast, be sure to go for sunset. Chill by the infinity-edged pool, people-watch to your heart’s content, or head to the upper deck for front row seats of the sunset show.
SugarSand’s cocktails are infused with tropical fruits and local spices — the quintessential Bali sundowner. And the food is excellent. Loaded flatbreads, filled with things like miso chicken, smoked feta, whipped avocado, and huacatay, are available alongside char-grilled specialities and imaginative salads.
Also housed within the hotel is a great cafe, a cocktail bar built beneath a sacred Pule tree, a tropical pool bar, and an all-day eatery serving authentic local eats. For the coffee lovers, Pottery Cafe is a hotel highlight. Featuring a wide range of coffees and treats to choose from, all served on stunning Kevala Ceramics pieces. The hotel’s multi-award-winning wellness facility, Sava Spa, is the cherry on the cake. Decked out in natural woods and earthy tones, it’s a real oasis of calm. Treatments combine modern massage techniques, ancient healing, and ingredients from the island’s natural larder, from Bali sea salt to heritage rice.
