COMO Shambala Estate and Uma Cucina Ubud’s Signature Sunday Brunches are Back!

What’s better than having a slow calming brunch on a bright Sunday in Ubud with the whole family? We were very lucky to be back at COMO Shambhala Estate and Uma Cucina at COMO Uma Ubud last week, experienced the Italian-inspired cuisine by Uma Cucina culinary team and enjoying series of easy, nutritious and delicious dishes specially brought by glow’s culinary team.

Como Shambhala Como Uma Cucina Ubud Brunch

Sat at the glow Restaurant, the buzzing heart of COMO Shambhala Estate–the contemporary-styled, open-sided, all-day-dining venue nestled amidst the nature of Ubud—gave us that a one-of-a-kind feeling.

Besides the amazing gastronomic adventure, your dining experience will also be elevated by the beautiful and entertaining Gamelan and dance performance presented by the local village girls from Ubud’s neighbourhood.

Inspired by the Western and local cuisines, glow Sunday Brunch dishes are prepared to the guests’ preference and are suitable for a late breakfast or leisurely lunch.

We recommend you some of the favourite ones from the menu such as the sauteed forest mushrooms served with truffle oil and spinach puree on black rice toast; soft-cooked organic egg, baby bean, roast celeriac and frisee salad with anchovies and mustard dressing; prawn, chicken and spinach Shao Mai dumplings with black vinegar, chilli oil and coriander; pappardelle with confit tuna, roast tomatoes, dried chilli, cannellini beans, orange and dill.

Or if you feel like looking for something bold, go for marinated lamb skewers with chimichurri sauce, avocado, cucumber, tomato and red onion salad; and grilled pepes of kingfish, tomato and lemon basil wrapped in banana leaf with coconut and lemongrass sambal.

Meanwhile, at Uma Cucina, we were spoiled by the homely ‘kitchen’ spirit through fresh, locally-sourced produce and the flavors of Italy. Everything is featured by range of classic Italian fares, including freshly baked pizzas straight from the brick oven, chargrilled seafood, and antipasti.

Some of its appealing dishes that you should try are Tagliatelle alla Carbonara Cucina, hand-cut tagliatelle cooked with egg yolk, parmesan, peas, and shaved prosciutto; Funghi Pizza topped with mixed mushroom, white sauce, kale, parmesan, and fragant truffle oil; and Frittata, a heartful dish made of hand-picked crab, ricotta, zucchini, mint, and lemon.

Should you desire to pair the dishes with wines or cocktails, there is also an excellent selection of wines and cocktails during brunch.
