Executive Pastry Chef Antonio Yang is bringing a decade of experience in creating bespoke and commercial pastries in culinary establishments across Asia to complete The Westin Resort Nusa Dua’s inspiring culinary team.

Coming from a professional Graphic Designer background, Chef Antonio took on a courageous new career path as he found his true passion in the world of pastry. Chef Antonio specializes in serving innovative desserts with French, Italian, and Asian fuse. He truly believes that pastry resembles art, and therefore he aims to leave an impactful gastronomic experience on guests from the very first sight.

After growing up in Panama, the Taiwanese pastry and bakery prodigy was granted a Diplome de Patisserie from the Le Cordon Bleu Paris in Taiwan. Chef Antonio also obtained a Master Gelatiere title from the Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy, as well as a diploma in Baking Arts and Science from the Cerealtech School of Baking Technology in Singapore.

Chef Antonio’s career highlights include experiences in different parts of the Asia Pacific. His Chef career all began with St. Regis, Sukhotai, Bangkok, where he transformed delicate ingredients into gracious dessert presentations. His journey in the pastry world led him to a new path – becoming the Executive Pastry Chef Consultant for Brasserie 1893 at Waldorf Astoria Beijing in China. During his duties at Waldorf Astoria Beijing, he achieved The Michelin Plate 2021 for maintaining the good cooking standard.

Chef Antonio also had a successful time at Marriott International, specifically at St. Regis. He showcased true artistic dessert presentation skills to design a popular afternoon tea menu – Forest and Summer Afternoon Tea – featuring desserts inspired by living things and nature.

His love for art and pastry encouraged him to share stories through sweet creations, as he led the Young Chef Development Project in different countries where he resided. As Chef Antonio becomes part of The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali, he promises to elevate the pastry creations like never before with the Eat Well pillar embedded to the very core.
