The monkeys play an important role in the mythology and art of the locals. They are cared for and fed sweet potatoes by staff daily. The monkeys aren’t shy, they may come near you and try to grab your bag or other belongings if they suspect you are carrying food. It’s best not to enter with any food on your person, secure any loose items like sunglasses and try not to rummage through your bag while in the forest as they may think you are hiding food.
