Take a Foodie Retreat and Experience The Flavours of Bali while You Holiday

Take your next Bali holiday to a new level and make it more memorable by joining the ‘Our Bali Your Bali’ foodie tour and retreat initiated by the renowned Bali-based Chef, a writer, Dean Keddell.

Our Bali Your Bali Tour Recap

Throughout the pandemic, well-known Bali based Chef (and owner of Ginger Moon Canteen & Jackson Lily’s restaurant) Dean Keddell made it his mission to support as many of the Balinese in need as possible. Along with donating one of his restaurants to a food rescue operation throughout the pandemic, Chef Dean put his skills to work and published the Our Bali Your Bali cookbook to give people missing Bali a taste of their favourite island. All proceeds from the book have been delivered back as donations to impoverished communities.

As a result of the success and interest in the Our Bali Your Bali book, Dean saw an opportunity once Bali opened back up to invite guests to actually live the book for a week. This is when Our Bali Your Bali Book Tours were established. These tours see guests staying in luxury accommodation, with all details of the tour taken care of. Throughout the 5-day tour guests get to experience the best of Bali through the eyes of long time local Chef Dean.

Some of the highlights of the tour include:

You’ll also get a private cooking class with Chef and his team, which starts with a visit to the Denpasar markets to purchase your ingredients. There are also plenty of treats and surprises along the way!

The best part about investing your time and money into being a guest on these tours, is that not only will you get a one-of-a-kind experience, all proceeds from the tour are directly donated back to the communities that Dean supports. A real win-win when it comes to a meaningful and memorable Bali experience.

Don’t take our word for it though!

We asked some of the guests of the previous tours for their feedback on their experience and this is what they had to say:

Dianne from Australia

“The Our Bali Your Bali Tour definitely did not disappoint. It was everything it promised to be and then some more. From the first meeting with Dean and Saroh and the Bucket list Banquet at Ginger Moon Canteen, I knew it was going to be something special.

While the focus was raising awareness of the charities Dean supports and the ongoing challenges Bali faces, we were taken on a journey through the cookbook, which is so much more than a collection of recipes. We met the people whose stories we’d read and tried some of the special recipes they had shared. What a treat!

We travelled from our accommodation in Seminyak where highlights were Dean’s master class, as well as meeting Margaret Barry founder of the Bali Children’s Foundation, to Nusa Dua where we visited the Zero Waste facility, Ubud where we had lunch in the rainforest, Tabanan, where we hiked through rice paddies with unbelievable views and also toured the Wildlife Sanctuary, to Canggu for a Royal Dinner and cultural performance and also to Denpasar markets. Each day was exciting, experiences varied and food…..wow!

Gail from Australia

Thanks again for wonderful memories. The Our Bali Your Bali cookbook tour was a unique and fabulous experience…a great balance between appreciation of the culinary delights of Bali and initiatives undertaken to address issues of social justice and environmental preservation. With our wonderful hosts Dean, Saroh and Agung sharing their knowledge of culture and customs whilst catering for our every need we left with treasured memories and friendships, and a heightened appreciation for the efforts of many working to make changes for the future. Highly recommended!
