Afterwards, a romantic candlelit entrance will guide you into the heart of the garden, where The Mulia’s attentive staff warmly welcome you to your table. We were overwhelmed by the wide selection of tempting Balinese and Indonesian food on offer. Served buffet-style, there is plenty to choose from, with helpful staff on hand to guide you through the different dishes and offer recommendations.

Full of authentic flavour, this was truly a feast to behold! From classics like suckling pig (Babi Guling), freshly grilled satay and marinated pork ribs, to traditional dishes such as sticky rice cakes (lontong), flavoursome roasted chicken (Ayam Betutu) and a whole host of vegetable accompaniments. The flavours were sublime as we savoured delicacies from across the archipelago, such as the grilled king prawn and lobster, served alongside grilled marinated corn (Jagung Bakar) and Balinese vegetables cooked in shredded coconut (Sayur Urap).

Indulge in sticky rice cakes, platters of fresh fruit, pancakes filled with desiccated coconut and palm sugar (Dadar Gulung) and Es Doger – Indonesian-style ice cream with authentic accompaniments.

As you dine, an evening of entertainment awaits you. Enjoy five spellbinding performances of intricate Balinese dances, enhanced by a live gamelan orchestra which will transport you to the heart of Balinese culture. From awe-inspiring warrior celebrations to the graceful Legong movements, and dances inspired by the Birds of Paradise – the authentic costumes and mesmerising choreography are a true tribute to the island of Bali!
