Nusa Lembongan – hard to beat views!
On our recent trip to Bali we decided to add a short stay in Nusa Lembongan on to the end of our trip. This island has been growing in popularity over the past years and was recently voted the 2nd best Island in Asia.
In our many trips to Bali we had visited the Island a few times on a day trip but we had never stayed there. Lembongan is a short 30 minute fastboat ride from Bali so it is a really easy add on to your Bali holiday. The fastboats leave from Sanur and pull up in Nusa Lembongan’s main bay – Jungut Batu
We had the pleasure of checking out and staying at two AMAZING villas on the cliff in the main bay. On our first night we stayed at Villa Harmony which is at the top of all of the villas on the cliff. The villa and the infinity pool had views that went on forever! We really had to pinch ourselves when we woke up in the mornings to believe we could be staying somewhere with such spectacular views!
On the second night we moved down to Lembongan Sanctuary Villas which is about half way down the cliff and once again the views were insane.
The quality and hospitality at both of these villas were of a very high standard. They were both equipped with extensive information on what to do, where to eat, how to get places and best of all they arranged for the massage ladies to come to your villa (with views like that why would you want a massage anywhere else!).
The snorkelling on the island was gorgeous and even our children (4 and 8) had a ball going out on a local boat, feeding the fish and snorkelling through the gorgeous waters. We hired to scooters to get around but were most impressed to find that a lot of the restaurants on the island offered free transfers to and from when you made a booking.
There are many different areas you can chose to stay in Nusa Lembongan. We stayed in the main bay but spent a lot of time on the scooters checking out all of the areas of Nusa Lembongan and the neighbouring Island of Nusa Ceningan. Scooting across the suspension bridge was a definite highlight for us all!
We ate at Nyoman’s Warung, The Deck, Sandy Bay Beach Club and Ware Ware Warung and the food was cheap and delicious! We loved the laid back feel of the Island and most of all the serenity!
